AGAVE AMERICANA PROFILE
This blue/green Agave is elegant, minimal and peaceful. The Agave originates from the Southern USA and Mexico. This rare houseplant has thick grey-green upright leaves in which the plant stores moisture and nutrients to survive during periods of drought, so golden rules are don't over water, expose to the sunlight and keep warm!
Origin
Mexico and USA
Positioning + Light Needs
Requires a plentiful mix of indirect and direct sunlight. Avoid positioning in cold spaces or exposure to draughts.
Watering
Agave plants retain moisture in their leaves so water very modestly and only when the soil is dry.
Misting
No misting at all please, Agave like low humidity.
Feeding
Feed me once every Spring with liquid fertiliser (make sure to use fertiliser made specifically for succulents and cacti).
Re-potting
When roots fill all the nursery pot. Signs: If your main plant is starting to look a little droopy but is surrounded by smaller pups, it's definitely time to re-pot.
Child / Pet Friendly
No, toxic and spikey!
Look out for
Pale, yellowing leaves: either not enough direct sunlight or possible overwatering.
Check soil: if too wet, re-pot me!
